CSG provided complete building and fire plan review for this integrated Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense joint health-care clinic, the first in California. This new 146,000 square foot, 3-story structure will serve as a state-of-the-art medical clinic, providing primary and specialty care including subspecialty clinics, audiology, indoor and outdoor physical therapy, occupational therapy, a mental health center, and imaging and laboratory space. This project achieved LEED Gold certification per the LEED for Healthcare 2009 Edition and had a final cost of $80 million.
In addition, CSG provided development review as well as construction management and inspection for all infrastructure, utilities and roadways associated with the Clinic project.
CSG has provided contractual code enforcement services for the City of Marina on a continuous basis since 2007. Core services include general code enforcement throughout the City including responding to complaints, supporting the Chief Building Official in dangerous building and housing code inspections, and issuance of administrative citations to respondents who do not comply.
Other services include assisting the Planning Division in investigating zoning complaints and other violations of the Zoning Code, supporting the Engineering Department and Public Works Department in investigating violations of the Public Works Code and supporting the enterprise-funded Airport Department in identifying and responding to violations that occur on airport property.
The City of Marina selected CSG to perform complete construction management for this highway off-ramp improvement project. The project involved the widening of the northbound off-ramp of State Route 1 to Imjin Parkway. The scope of work included widening Imjin Parkway from the northbound off-ramp terminus to approximately 300-feet east. Construction materials and activities included road excavation and backfill, roadway widening with aggregate base, asphalt concrete pavement and asphalt concrete overlay, installation of one traffic signal at the southbound off-ramp of State Route 1 and Imjin Parkway, storm drain improvements, signing, striping, and other miscellaneous improvements.
CSG provided complete construction management services including a resident engineer, assistant resident engineer, and construction inspection for this complete street project in the City of Marina which received the 2014 Transportation Excellence Award from the Transportation Agency of Monterey County. The Reservation Road Improvement Project was a collaborative effort between the City of Marina, the Monterey Peninsula Regional Parks District (MPRPD), and the Coastal Commission to improve vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle access through this gateway into Central Marina. With a grant from the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District and further funding through Public Facility Impact Fees, the $2.4 million project provided two new roundabouts at the Reservation Road intersections with Seaside Circle and Lake Drive. These were the first two modern roundabouts of their kind designed & constructed in the Monterey Peninsula. Along with the two roundabouts, project improvements also included new pedestrian crossings at the roundabout intersections, improved bicycle access throughout the project site, as well as new pedestrian facilities (concrete sidewalk) connecting Central Marina to the Marina Branch Library and Beach Road Shopping Center.
CSG performed design of roadway improvements for this primary arterial street. The project included the widening of the existing AC roadway to provide appropriate width for new bike lanes on both sides of Imjin Parkway from Imjin Road to Reservation Road. Work also included improvements to concrete sidewalks, curb, gutter, and passageways, providing new striping and markings, metal guard rail construction, signage, traffic signal modifications, and an asphalt concrete overlay. The project utilized high visibility green bike lanes for road areas where vehicles would cross over the new bicycle lanes. The project received Regional Transportation Improvement Program funding and required coordination with Caltrans Local Assistance to obtain the E76 Authorization to Proceed with Construction.
CSG provided comprehensive building plan review as well as fire sprinkler and fire alarm plan review and testing for this 174 unit, 583 bedroom on-campus apartment complex for California State University, Monterey Bay students. Construction consisted of three new 4-story apartment buildings with 2, 3 and 4-bedroom units, a 1-story, 4,600 sq. ft. community center, a computer lab/business center, a clubhouse, and a fitness area. This 270,000 sq. ft. project had a construction cost of $28.9 million.
CSG performed comprehensive engineering plan review, building plan review and fire sprinkler plan review/inspection for the development of 420 acres of former Fort Ord property within the boundaries of the City of Marina. The “Dunes” project, for which a Specific Plan was developed, was divided into four phases and consists of mixed-use (retail, entertainment, commercial, live/work), low-income housing, offices/research space, and residential areas. The development also includes numerous public parks and a multi-modal corridor.
Specifically, the Dunes project is home to the Dunes Residential Housing which ultimately will consist of 1,237 homes. Another residential development that is part of the project is the University Village Apartments, a $21 million low income housing development comprised of 9 buildings, 108 two and three story units and a community center for a total of nearly 100,000 sq. ft. The Dunes development also consists of the the Dunes on Monterey Bay Shopping Center, which includes a $5.8 million, 10 screen theatre with wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor screens and a 21,000 sq. ft. retail and restaurant development.
