CSG performed comprehensive engineering plan review, building plan review and fire sprinkler plan review/inspection for the development of 420 acres of former Fort Ord property within the boundaries of the City of Marina. The “Dunes” project, for which a Specific Plan was developed, was divided into four phases and consists of mixed-use (retail, entertainment, commercial, live/work), low-income housing, offices/research space, and residential areas. The development also includes numerous public parks and a multi-modal corridor.

Specifically, the Dunes project is home to the Dunes Residential Housing which ultimately will consist of 1,237 homes. Another residential development that is part of the project is the University Village Apartments, a $21 million low income housing development comprised of 9 buildings, 108 two and three story units and a community center for a total of nearly 100,000 sq. ft. The Dunes development also consists of the the Dunes on Monterey Bay Shopping Center, which includes a $5.8 million, 10 screen theatre with wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor screens and a 21,000 sq. ft. retail and restaurant development.
